For the security and confidentiality of the other residents at Cedar House, we do not publish the address of the property.
We accept referrals from friends, family, partner agencies (see right) and also self-referrals. Full referral criteria will be made available on request.
Following an initial phone assessment, a prospective resident will be invited to attend an informal interview with the staff and have the opportunity to have a tour of the house. During the interview, we will discuss any specific needs, with the opportunity for prospective resident to ask questions about the house and organisation, as well as meet the staff and current residents. We have 10 bedrooms, and we will always try and accommodate applicants on a priority basis.
If accepted, you will be placed on a waiting list until a space at the house becomes available. If there is already one free, then a date will be made for moving in. However, prospective residents are moved in on a priority basis according to our needs assessment and risk assessment, with highest need prioritised. Move-in is also subject to us receiving a satisfactory reference.
Unfortunately, we have no facilities for children at Cedar House, and we are also unable to offer immediate accommodation in an emergency due to the long-term nature of our service. However, if we cannot immediately offer accommodation we will give advice on alternative direct access housing provision wherever possible.
If you are unsure about any aspect of the referral process please contact us for further clarification.
Every resident who lives at Cedar Housing is assessed according to their background and individual needs. Residents have their own support worker who is based at Cedar House, and they are encouraged to set targets and goals with them to help plan towards their future.
We will always support residents to find appropriate move-on accommodation at a time when the resident feels they have adequate skills and confidence. The length of stay for any resident will vary according to each residents' unique circumstances, but we generally do not expect an individual to continue at Cedar Housing beyond a maximum of two years.
